July 4: Saturday night fever

A friendly comfy home-made dinner followed by a pleasant round trip to "La Maldita" milonga (great tango shows on monday, wednesday and saturday late evenings) is way not enough for the night. Argentinians start going out at 2AM !! An intense little nap is highly recommended before the alarm clock wakes you up to get ready for party time. Cheers !! Eugenia's workaholic boss David, better known as Jaime (there is a true devotion for nicknames in the country), had invited over 1000 people in his stunning Belgrano apartment to empty bottles and dance on slippery floors to Reggaeton and Cumbia swings (popular urban music). I barely saw the light on sunday as we obviously got up late. The day was not wasted though since we discovered the fabulous "Catedral" warehouse-like alternative milonga located in a 1880's building in Almagro district. While Chacarera live folk music was feeding our ears with amazing melodies, we were lazily nibbling at fresh "picadas" (typical dish). A good night sleep saved the next morning.
